This is just a quick follow-up to last week's highly popular post.
A problem arose in that inland areas were pretty uninteresting since there was no interesting geography offering strategic advantages. Additionally, these tended to be full of small, unconsolidated civilisations. In a way it looked like the areas actually least inhabitable in the real world were the most habitable there.
So, I fixed that. I added tundra, mountains, deserts and jungles; types of terrain that were uninhabitable.
Additionally, I removed the relationship system, leading to much more aggressive and opportunistic nations. This also allowed island nations to do naval invasions and actually play a part on the global scene.
Thus I present, a World Battle Royale that actually goes somewhere: image.
