These portraits were all made using a single, highly diverse procedural method. The project is described here, but basically, an image is created by applying a small range of functions in a random order. This is combined with a genetic approach, which allows me to select for the random algorithms giving the best results.
The portraits below are my best attempt at creating a singular product from a program whose goal was to create highly diverse results. For someone who does not know what procedural generation is, this is a tangible example of randomness and the benefits of it - after the program was written, I have not done anything but selection to create this series.
